At The Flying Bull Academy, we believe that wearing a school uniform is important because it:

• Encourages a sense of pride in our school.
• Helps maintain a strong focus on learning.
• Fosters a sense of community and belonging.
• Ensures all children feel equal in their appearance.
• Is designed with health and safety in mind.

Our uniform reflects our school values and helps create a positive and inclusive environment for all.

The school colours are black, green and white. 

• Trousers, Shorts, Skirt, or Pinafore: Black 
• Summer Dress: Green gingham or candy stripe
• Shirt, Polo Shirt, or Blouse: White
• Sweatshirt or Cardigan: Plain black or with the Academy badge
• Socks/Tights: Plain white, grey, or black
• Belts: Plain black
• Footwear: Plain black school shoes or black trainers (no coloured markings)

🚫 Open-toed sandals, boots, patterned trainers, or sling-back sandals are not permitted for safety reasons.  

PE Kit (which is worn to school on PE days)

For PE lessons, all children are required to wear the correct kit to ensure they can participate safely and comfortably.

• T-Shirt: Black or plain white T-shirt
• Tracksuit: Plain black tracksuit
• Shorts: Black shorts
• Socks: White sports socks
• Footwear: Trainers (not plimsolls)

We also ask:

• Long Hair: Should be tied up at all times for safety and hygiene reasons.
• Hair Bands: Should be plain green, or black and in keeping with the school uniform. Headscarves and other adornments are only permitted for religious or cultural reasons.
• Jewellery: For safety reasons, children must not wear bracelets, brooches, or necklaces.
• Watches: Children may wear watches but are responsible for them. Children are not permitted to wear smartwatches during the school day; they will be kept safely in a cupboard in the classroom.
• Ear Piercings: Only stud earrings are permitted. These should be removed or taped over by the child before PE lessons.
• Make-up and Accessories: Make-up, transfer tattoos, and nail varnish should not be worn. If worn, pupils will be asked to remove them at school or may be sent home if removal is not possible on site.

Nursery Children:
Children in our nursery are encouraged to wear the Academy’s black sweatshirt/cardigan each day. Parents may choose other clothing that is suitable for nursery activities.
